Dextra Management was established in 2005 by Dariel to provide wellbeing services to the community and workplace.  The service now focuses on providing professional and authentic Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training with management capabilities to lead entire training projects in line with strategic guidance for promoting, protecting and improving mental health and wellbeing. 

Dariel is a National Trainer for Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England CIC. Since 2014 she has been facilitating MHFA courses and is approved to deliver the entire suite of Adult, Youth, Armed Forces Community, Higher Education and Refresher mental health first aid courses.  She is also an Associate Trainer for Mind in Harrogate District, and Training Provider for HeadFirst, the Mental Health and Suicide Awareness Hub for North Yorkshire Community Learning Partnership (NYCLP).

Over 15 years’ experience as a Wellbeing Practitioner in the field of Complementary Therapy and a background in business development and training consultancy has enabled Dariel to combine her professionalism with a passion for raising mental health literacy in our workplaces to address both absenteeism and presenteeism, improve productivity by reducing stress, depression and anxiety whilst stamping out stigma. Dariel’s skillset has enabled her to work with a variety of clients from international brands (Unilever, HSBC) to national enterprises, construction industry, SMEs and community groups.

As a National Trainer, Dariel delivers the Instructor Training Programmes and CPDs (Continued Professional Development), both “Face to Face” and “Virtually”, for the MHFA Instructor community. Commissioned programmes have included the CITB (Adult), NHS (Youth), Hampshire County Council (Armed Forces), Cumbria County Council (Youth), E-ACT Academy (Youth) for example.

Projects that Dariel has successfully tendered for include rolling out the Youth MHFA Two Day course to primary, secondary, special schools & colleges for Darlington Borough Council and the Two Day MHFA for the Armed Forces Community across Hull Regional Council.

For 5 years now, Dariel has been supporting and volunteering for Mind in Harrogate District, recently stepping down as a Trustee to support and mentor the staff with developing their Training Services. Her involvement and experience includes designing and delivering presentations and awareness courses on mental health in the local community for Mind in Harrogate District which have included Coca Cola, Belzona, CNG, Fountains Abbey, St John Fisher’s School.

Suicide prevention and awareness is a particular specialism of Dariel’s work, and she is planning to become a SafeTALK and ASIST Instructor during the year and will be able to add these courses to her training services.
